One year on and more than 2,000 seafarers have joined Sailors’ Society’s MyWellness revolution

Seafarers across the globe are logging in and learning after signing up for Sailors’ Society’s revolutionary MyWellness e-learning app, launched one year ago (July 5).
More than 2,350 seafarers have already logged more than nine months of training time on the ground-breaking platform which is designed to help seafarers manage mental and emotional strain, improve personal and professional relationships and look after their finances and physical and mental fitness.
This free app has proved a hit with seafarers, who can access the animations, podcasts and quizzes set across seven modules that are available both on and offline. Users are recommending the content as clear, easy to understand, engaging and interactive and more than two-thirds of users said all seafarers should sign up.
Sailors’ Society CEO, Sara Baade, said: “We are delighted that the MyWellness app is proving so popular. It is clear seafarers are immersing themselves in the platform and completing every module to gain their certificate – they have together completed more than 12,000 modules in total.”
“The app is designed to help seafarers manage their own wellbeing and it is working with an overwhelming 91 per cent of the app’s users saying they can apply what they have learned to their everyday work and life, while the same percentage say they have a far better understanding of wellbeing and mental health after completing the modules.”
Seafarers can sign-up for the MyWellness app, which has funding support from Chellship and The Chellaram Foundation and is available on a phone, tablet or laptop, at sailors-society.org/mywellness.
